NACCCA Anti-Asian Hate Statement
In response to the increase in acts of anti-Asian hate, the board of NACCCA (North American Chinese Clinical Chemists Association), a nonprofit organization with clinical chemists, scientists, physicians, and clinical laboratorians from regions of North America, Eastern Asia, and Europe, issued the following statement:
We strongly condemn racism and expressions of hate, bias and discrimination in any forms. We recognize how recent violent attacks on Asian community have deeply affected members of our community. We are united with all of our Asian American professionals in the field of laboratory medicine in standing up against hate, xenophobia and violence. Violence towards any minority group cannot be tolerated. The anxiety and fear in the Asian American community is palpable, and we grieve with and support the millions of Chinese Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders across the U.S. who feel targeted.
NACCCA members have reached out to the Federal Government, local law enforcement agencies and community leaders to advocate immediate actions to address the surge in anti-Asian crimes and to ensure the safety of Asian Americans and businesses. We further call on all Asian American community groups to work together to combat anti-Asian crimes.
The North American Chinese Clinical Chemists Association (NACCCA) is a non-profit organization currently serving more than 500 clinical scientists, physician, and clinical laboratorians from United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Asian or other non-Asian countries. NACCCA is a US-based international organization that represents the interests of its members, the public, and laboratory scientists in related disciplines in communicating with one other, and to foster academic, developmental, and service excellence in the practice of clinical laboratory medicine via education and information exchange.
